My name is Vidar Venbakken and living in Norway in a small village called Flisa. I have owned and trained golden all my life. In 2006 my attention was led to Sweden and Bianca come into my life. We started training obedience. Two years later she was in winner-class. But then my eyes caught field training, and we never looked back.
Unfortunately my skills was not so good in the beginning. We needed 18 starters in the beginner class before first price. In open class we had 2 starters before first price. As I mentioned earlier my experience was not so good. She had several second And third prices in open class before she died of a heart attack 9 and a half year old.
Julia came into my life in 2012. She was my pride. 17 months old she got a first price in the beginners class with honorary price. Years later she was in winner-class on B trails. Unfortunately she got cancer 6 years old, but we kept fighting with some good placing on working test. 9 years old she also got Cushing syndrome and was retired. In 2022 she got her cancer back and I had no other choice than to let her walk the rainbow bridge.
Asta was imported from Canada in 2018. Already on the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles we bonded. First night in USA she slept tight into me. We are a team. Of course it takes time with lots of training, but last year 2022 in September we got our second first price and she was qualified in winner-class.
Then you ask why breeding when you can pick from so many good breeders ? I have an idea of combination and health. I will only breed when I am keeping a puppy. I believe Asta is increasing the genetic pole with a strong health and good behaviour. I will try to look forward and respect all forms of golden regarding colour , size and pedigree . After all we are one race. Golden retriever.
